Diagnosis: Trophozoites not observed, only digestion cysts, with different shapes and sizes. Surrounding mucilage only visible with Indian ink. One specimen with one nucleus had been observed. Digestion cysts are spherical (48-132 µm), sometimes with 1-3 hollow spines. Excystation not observed.

  

Ecology: Feeding on Microcystis. Freshwater, Europe.

 

Remarks: This species has been found by René van Wezel in July 2016 in the Kardinge Plas in Groningen, the Netherlands.
