Paramoeba spec.
Saccamoeba? spec., normal shape

Saccamoeba? spec.

Diagnosis: normal locomotion in typical zigzag shape; uroid bulbous, smooth or with short villi; no bipiramidal crystals observed; about ten nuclei, nuclei with one central nuceolus or two pieces of nucleolar material. Anterior end finely granulated.

Ecology: on water plants and on the bottom of different water types.

Remarks: This remarkable amoeba is probably new to science. It was first reported by Charles Krebs, who published some beautiful photomicrographs in an internet forum in 2011. Some weeks later I found this amoeba at several locations in the central part of the Netherlands.
