Awerintzewia levis  Dekhtiar, 1994

Diagnosis: Shell ovoid but slightly compressed; pseudostome relatively small, broadly elliptical, with a regular edge and without lateral incision. Shell covered with irregular, flat mineral plates embedded in organic cement, arranged like roof tiles. Plates become larger toward the fundus.

Dimensions: Length 168–192 µm; width 120–129 µm; pseudostomal diameter 48 µm.

Ecology: Sphagnum in a spring; Russia.

Remarks: This species resembles a Schwabia species, but members of that genus are much smaller. Dekhtiar does not provide any description of the pseudopodia.
