Centropyxis mizoramensis Chattopadhyay & Das, 2003

Diagnosis: Shell colourless, elongated and elliptical in ventral view with blunt and flat posterior extremity; anterior portion of the shell distinctly flattened than posterior; in ventral view a constriction is visible between the oral and post-oral portion of the shell as found in C. platystoma; in lateral view, the posterior part of the shell is slightly arched; aperture large, circular and eccentric; shell composed of flat quartz particles, more pronounced in the posterior part; pre-oral border of the test with large pebbles.

Dimensions: According to Chattopadhyay and Das (2003): Shell length 53—64 µm; width 33—44 µm.

Habitat: Tree moss.

Geographical distribution: Sairep, Lunglei District, Mizoram, India.
