Description: Shell elongated pyriform, tapering evenly from the mid-body position to the aperture; shell with a distinct neck, composed of smaller quartz particles as the rest of the test; aperture circular.

Dimensions: Length: up to 514 µm.

Ecology: Sediment in eutrophic-mesotrophic ditches, Naardermeer. the Netherlands.
