Wailesella eboracencis (Wailes & Penard, 1911)

Diagnosis: Shell ovate, brown, reddish-brown or yellow-brown, chitinoid; aperture circular, subterminal; pseudopodia conical; nucleus vesicular, spherical.

Dimensions: Length 20-28 µm. My measurements 22-69 µm, from several locations in The Netherlands and Austria.

Ecology: Sphagnum, mosses and peatbogs. Rare, never abundant.

Remarks: The shell strongly resembles a Trinema shell, but the color makes a quick distinction possible.
