Lieberkuehnia
This is probably a Lieberkuehnia species. This specimen was collected by Wolfgang Bettighofer in 2017 from his aquarium in Germany.

Diagnosis: This probably new species was discovered by Wolfgang Bettighofer from Kiel, Germany, in his aquarium. I found about ten specimens in a sample he sent to me. We will soon sequence some cells and see what comes out of it.

 

Measurements: cell 40-80 µm, multi-nucleated, c. 50 nuclei pro cell, nuclei c. 3.4-3.7 µm in diameter.

 

Ecology: Freshwater
