Lacogromia cassipara – nuclei

Lacogromia cassipara, compressed cell with four nuclei

Compressed test, three nuclei

Specimen with over twenty nuclei

Characteristic shapes.

Two smaller nuclei

Left: Nucleus just squeezed out of the cell, right: the same nucleus 40 seconds later, desintegrating

The same nucleus: left: normal structure, nucleus inside the cell; middle: nucleus just squeezed out of the test, left: the same nucleus one minute later.

Nuclei inside the cell

Nuclei, left: stained with acridine orange

Nuclei

The four nuclei above are from a specimen with ten nuclei. These nuclei were squeezed out of the cell and within some minutes the structure of the nuclei changed. Keep this in mind when describing nuclei.
