Leptophrys spec. moving and (r) cyst

This Leptophrys species was present in a sample from Crailoo, where it preyed on Euastrum verrucosum and Netrium digitus. It digested the content of these desmids by engulfing them and building a cyst where it also divided. I could observe how three specimens came out such a cyst. The cells had branched tapering filopodia with a broader pipe-shaped base without any granules.

Note the branched filopodia with their tubular base.
Digestive cyst with Netrium cell as prey.
Empty cyst.
