Small, smaller, smallest…

These shells were found in a sample from Čakovac Cave in Croatia collected by Najla Baković, 2022. Their length ranges from 6.4-8.7 µm (mean 7.5 µm) and width 4.5-5.4 µm (mean 4.9 µm; n=23). Without SEM images it is impossible to tell if this is a Micropyxidiella or Ovulina or a new species. Anyway, it is the smallest testate amoeba known to date.
