Diagnosis: Shell hemispherical, with a relatively thick wall, with many undulations and clearly punctuated. Shell yellow. Aperture as large as the diameter of the shell. Cytoplasm fills the shell, nucleus with central nucleolus.
Dimensions: According to Schönborn: Shell diameter 60.2—68.6 µm (n=5), height 50.2—50.4 µm.
Ecology: Freshwater.
Geographical distribution: Sweden.
