Genus Schwabia Jung, 1942

See Schwabia here.

Diagnosis: Shell ovoid, circular in cross-section, chitinous with small mineral particles which produce a smooth surface, aperture terminal.

Ecology: either freshwater or alkaline forest soils (S. terricola).

Four species.

Type species: Schwabia irregularis Jung, 1942, Refs.: Bonnet and Thomas (1960), Chardez (1966).

Remarks: I don't think this genus belongs to the lobose amoebae. Nobody has ever seen living cells. I moved this genus to the Cercozoa, after observations of several similar shells which contained living cells. See Schwabia here.
