Reticulomyxa filosa
Dracomyxa spec. main cell body with plasma strands

Dracomyxa sp.

This specimen was sampled in organic sediment in the shallow part of the river Gard along camping Beau Rivage, Cardet, in France, 2019. I found it in a week old wet mount. It had some very long granoreticulopodia, up to 1 mm each. The cell body was c. 100 µm. This body mass was stationary for some hours, then it was attacked by a Peranema and when I looked again after some hours, the organism was gone, probably hidden between debris. The cell body was covered by a thin tectum which was clearly visible when plasma strands left the body. I’m not sure wether this is an undescribed species, not even if it is a Dracomyxa spec.
