A. gertrudiana , from Jung, 1942
Argynnia gertrudiana Jung, 1942
Diagnosis: A more or less regular bottle-shaped shell, the covering of which consists of overlapping thick, siliceous-gray plates with slightly transformed pieces of siliceous material interspersed between them. Between these scales, brightly shining pore-like dots can often be seen, which are typical of the genus.
Dimensions: Length 231-279 µm; width 121-183 µm; aperture 40-60 µm; thickness 77—100 µm; collar 27 µm.
Habitat:
Remarks: Judging by the amount of food particles, the amoeba is apparently a very lively, voracious animal, which is one of the largest of the genus, if not even reaching maximum values in terms of shell dimensions.
