Diagnosis: Shell elongated and pyriform, in side view clearly flattened. Front of the shell covered with square plates that are very closely spaced apart, forming a transverse row at the front, but with a smooth apertural edge. Covering of the rest of the shell consists of irregular, sharply polygonal plates that are embedded in the base mass at very close intervals from one another.
Dimensions: Length 57-65 µm; width 41-43 µm; aperture 25 µm long and 14 µm wide; collar 3 µm wide.
