Diagnosis: Neck part slightly extended, i.e. shell behind the aperture concavely indented and mostly elongated. A fairly evenly rounded, strongly silicified species, which is one of the largest in the genus, with 1-3 short spinous tubes at the rear end. Covering of coarse siliceous plates of very different sizes with the peculiar formation of pores, which is often seen in the genus. Pseudostomal margin composed of a few large, crown-like particles, convex.
Dimensions: Length 232-238 µm; width 143-156 µm; aperture 50-68 µm; horns (1-3 Stück) 25-33 µm.
