Cunea-profundata, after Kudryavtsev & Pawlowski, 2015

Genus Cunea Kudryavtsev & Pawlowski, 2015

Diagnosis: Elongated amoebae with flat anterior hyaline area and conical posterior part of the cell consisting of granuloplasm. Anterior hyaline area produces tiny irregularities and sometimes short subpseudopodia at the margin, and may also be temporarily split into two lobes. A monopodial form with pronounced anterior hyaline cap may be temporarily adopted during locomotion. Cell coat consisting of tiny T-shaped structures over the plasma membrane.
Type species. Cunea profundata Kudryavtsev </em> Pawlowski, 2015

Habitat: All known species marine.

Cunea profundata Kudryavtsev & Pawlowski, 2015

Diagnosis: Length during locomotion 6–16 µm (average 9.7 µm), breadth 2.7–9 µm (average 5.7 µm), length:breadth ratio 0.83–5.13 (average 1.8); vesicular nucleus with the central nucleolus, diameter of nucleus 1.7–3 µm (average 2.2 µm), of nucleolus 0.7–1.8 µm (average 1.15 µm).
