Padaungiella pulcherrima (Awerinzew, 1906) Kosakyan et al., 2025

Diagnosis: Shell elongated-piriform in broad view, lateral margins gradually tapering towards the pseudostome. Neck distinct and elongated (ca. 40 μm). Shell not compressed laterally, and pseudostome circular in frontal view. The most distinctive characteristic of the species is where the main part of the test body consists of two identical, flattened spherical convexities. Shell composed of circular and ovoid plates, slightly overlapping. Pseudostome linear in broad view.

Dimensions: According to Awerinzew (1906): Shell length 180—195 μm; width 100 μm.

Habitat: Sphagnum mosses.

Geographical distribution: Asia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
