Basionym: Nebela gauthier-lievrei Stepanek, 1963

Diagnosis: This specimen resembles the species Nebela cratera in shape. The basic feature by which it differs from it are spines scattered irregularly on the shell surface. The same grow out of base tiles, of which there is always one between three tiles. The basal plates are irregularly shaped and significantly smaller than the others on the shell surface. The tiles rarely touch each other. There is a gray binding compound between the plates. When opening, the shell widens and is everted inwards. It is colored gray. The spines are obviously of chitinous origin. They are yellowish brown in color and very brittle.

Dimensions: Length 118 µm, width 70 µm, width of neck 28 µm, aperture 35 µm.

Habitat: Congo, Africa.

Remarks: The description is based on a single specimen. The status of this species is questionable.
