Physochila tenella (Penard, 1893) Jung, 1942
Basionym: Nebela tenella Penard, 1893
Diagnosis: Shell very small, slender, flattened, hyaline-yellowish, rough, very irregular in outline, formed in appearance in a chitinous-siliceous manner covered over its entire surface with very small and scarcely visible round scales, and often mixed with rods and small modified diatoms. This shell is broadly rounded behind, and from there gradually narrows towards the anterior part, to form there a narrow neck which then widens around the aperture in a brownish collar.
Dimensions: Length 70 µm, average width 40 µm.
Habitat: Peat bogs.
Remarks: Jung distinguishes Physochila tenella f. acollis Jung, 1936 = Physochila griseola f. acollis Jung, 1942
