Bodenwerder, Weser
In October 2012 I collected a sample from the bank of the River Weser, near the old railway bridge in the town of Bodenwerder in central Germany. The sample was taken from a large stone just below the water surface. At home I prepared several moist‑chamber mounts, which yielded some beautiful and unexpected amoeboids:
- Paramphitrema lemanense
- Cyphoderia calceolus
- Cyphoderia laevis
- Cochliopodium granulatum
- Leptophrys sp.
- Polychaos dubium
- Rhizamoeba caerulea
- Thecamoeba striata
- Penardeugenia spec., probably new species
- Limnofila spp.
- Microgromia sp.
- Lecythium granulatus
- Lithocolla spec.
- Microcometes paludosa
- Acanthocystis aculeata
- Nuclearia flavocapsulata
- Chlamydaster laciniatus
- Centropyxis ecornis
- Difflugia varians
- Euglypha acanthophora
