Mayorella vespertilioides Page, 1983

Diagnosis: Locomotive form with L/B ratio usually 1.2-4.6; floating form star-shaped, with long slender, pointed and radiating pseudopodia; nucleus spherical, with a central nucleolus; small paired crystals, usually 1.5 µm; cuticula 180-200 nm thick.

Dimensions: Page: 35-90 µm, L/B 1.2-4.6; nucleus 5.6-10.0 µm. My measurements: c. 60-70 µm; nucleus 7.4-10.4 µm.

Habitat: Freshwater, Europe.

Remarks: I found this species in wet Sphagnum and dry mosses on trees. Hard to tell if it is the same species.
