Gobiella moving along an algae.

The Gobiella starts stretching

It covers two algae and starts making holes in each cell.

After an hour the cells are empty and the amoeba starts to encyst somewhere.

Cyst, fresh because of the green color, and attached to the cover slip with a hyaline membrane.

Empty cyst and a Lecythium having profit of the hole made by the vampyrellid

Empty cyst, with some disks inside. Only one is visible (arrow)

Long stretched Gobiella, about 300 µm

Cell with disk, the same as in the image below

Empty cells with holes and a disk which was left behind by Gobiella. It is remarkable that this was the only disk observed in the culture. It is not clear what happened with the other disks.

Cyst

The same cyst as above, on the preyed algae with holes made by Gobiella.
