Genus Thecochaos Page, 1981

Diagnosis: Locomotive form irregular, but more or less oval between 160 and 360 µm in length. Branched only when changing direction. Surface with wrinkles. Anterior hyaloplasm as a crescentic cap. Numerous nuclei, around 100 to 200 per cell, each with a central nucleolus.

Habitat: Freshwater.
