Diepveen – Dwingeloo

This site forms part of the vast Dwingelderveld nature reserve, located southwest of the town of Assen and close to the village of Dwingeloo in the northern Netherlands. The landscape consists of heathland and woodland, interspersed with small and larger peat fens. The name Diepveen literally means “deep fen.”
