Order Echinamoebida Cavalier-Smith, 2004, sensu Smirnov et al, 2011

Diagnosis: Elongate limax-type amoebae, often flattened, with or without spine-like subpseudopodia. In forms lacking spiny subpseudopodia, cells are distinctly elongate, with length/breadth ratio typically >6.

Family Vermamoebidae Cavalier-Smith & Smirnov 2011
Genus: Vermamoeba
