Flamella spec.?

Description. This amoeba developed in a Petri dish containing material from the Gardon River in France. There were several specimens present, varying in size, approximately 120-250 µm in diameter. All cells were highly vacuolar and contained one or two nuclei with a central spherical nucleolus. During locomotion the cells were fan-shaped or broadly oval with a small hyaline margin and many short conical subpseudopodia. Some cells were air dried to see if they were covered with scales, but no scales were detected.

Ecology: Freshwater, sediment between large pebble stones, river Gardon, near the village of Anduze, southern France, 2019.
