Nuclearia flavocapsulata (Greeff, 1869) Patterson, 1984

Diagnosis: filose amoeboid with spherical body capable of changing shape;  cell with enveloping mucus sheath with adhering bacteria; thin non-branching pseudopodia arising from all parts of the cell; uninucleate; nucleus central, spherical, with large nucleolus; several contractile vacuoles.

Dimensions: ca. 30 µm my measurements: spherical body 35-40 µm, nucleus c. 18 µm.

Ecology: feeds on bacteria, algae, detritus.

Remarks: no cysts observed.
