Assulina muscorum var. denticulata Chardez, 1964 *)
Diagnosis: Shell very compressed, pseudostome wider than in the type and bordered by long and very clear denticulations, originating from the buccal scales. Body covering is formed of elongated, oval, fairly small scales whose imbrication is identical to other species of this genus.
Dimensions: Chardez (1964): Shell length 40—50 µm.
*) Assulina muscorum var. denticulata was introduced as a variety after 1960 and is therefore considered an infrasubspecific name unavailable under the provisions of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (Art. 45.6).
