Chaos illinoisense (Kudo, 1950) Bovee & Jahn, 1973

Diagnosis: Mostly polypodial, with several hundred spherical nuclei. Crystals mainly bipyramidal or flat. Cysts known.

Dimensions: Polypodial form about 500-800 µm long, monopodial form up to 1,5 mm. Nuclei spherical, 14-16 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. North-America.
