Hyalosphenia chardezi Kosakyan et al., 2025

Diagnosis: Shell transparent to yellowishbrown, entirely organic, lageniform in broad view, sometimes with a slightly irregular outline. Long neck only slightly compressed, almost cylindrical, tapering towards the aperture. Two small pores visible, one on each side on the neck base. Aperture curved in broad view, with an organic rim.

Dimensions: Shell length 130–14 µm; width 60–70 µm; aperture 20–27 µm.

Habitat: Sphagnum mosses (very humid, pH = 5.5–6).

Geographical distribution: Europe, Hautes-Fagnes, Belgium.
