Diagnosis: Individual cells in colony have a diameter of 5.53-13.26 µm; they are covered by flattened plate-scales (1.5-2.8 x 0.7-1.4 µm) with an axial rib (0.9-1.4 µm) and an inflected margin. The colony is surrounded by a thick layer of boat-like outer scales (1.6-3.4 x 1.0-1.9 x 0.5-1.5 µm) with axial rib (1.1- 1.7 µm) and numerous conical papillae on its outer surface, forming irregular rings. On the reverse side of the scale is a large opening (1.4-3.1 x 0.7-1.6 µm). L/W, L/H and W/H ratio is respectively 1.85; 2.48; 1.34. L × W of the opening/L × W of the scale ratio is 0.80.
