Diagnosis: Amoeba discoid or spherical in shape with a central granular hump, partly or completely surrounded by a more or less distinctive hyaline margin; amoeba covered with numerous micro scales, which are easily distinguished with the light microscope as a regular punctation; distinct tubular configuration of tectum around pseudopodal bases of floating form; a few finely conical, sometimes furcate subpseudopodia sometimes produced from anterior edge; many large crystals; no cyst known.
Dimensions: locomotive form 49-90 µm; nucleus 11-12.5 µm.
Habitat: Freshwater, different water types.
Remarks: It isn’t clear whether the name C. bilimbosum covers one or more species. Further research is needed.
