Puytoracia jenswendti  Santibáñez et al., 2011

Diagnosis: Shell cylindrical, tapering towards the pseudostome. Fundus rounded, terminating in a horn or tip. Pseudostome oval, pseudostomal rim with a row of 23-28 denticulate plates. Shell covered with two sizes of elliptical silica body scales: large and smaller scales are inserted between in the interstices among the large ones. Large scales elliptical, arranged parallel to the longitudinal body axis. and smaller elliptical scales more rectangular than the large scales, dominating around the aperture and interstices.

Dimensions: Santibáñez et al. (2011): Shell length 67.9—96.1 μm; width 16.5—30.5 μm; large scales 1.87—3.5 × 4.9—6.4 μm, smaller scales 0.8—1.5 × 1.8—2.6 µm.

Ecology: Found on glaciers.

Geographical distribution: Central Chile.
