Difflugia beyensi Chardez, 1985

Diagnosis: The shell is large, perfectly spherical, and regular in shape, with a short, narrow cylindrical neck. The pseudostome is surrounded by a regular thickening, encrusted with fine mineral particles. The shell is embedded with polymorphic quartz particles, which are often not densely packed.

Dimensions: According to Chardez (1985): Shell length 296—325 μm; diameter 257—277 μm; pseudostome 83—85 μm; height of neck 39—48 μm.

Habitat: Freshwater, sediment.

Geographical distribution: Belgium.
