Hyalosphenia insecta Harnisch, 1938
Diagnosis: Shell flask-shaped, resembling H. elegans, but with numerous small regular undulations; compressed, completely organic, transparent, colorless; two minute pores, one at each side, in the base of the neck; aperture usually with a thickened lip.
Dimensions: Shell length 68-84 µm; width 29-42 µm.
Habitat: In Sphagnum and other mosses. Europe, Mongolia (Łuców et al., 2024).
