Nebela rotunda Penard, 1890
Basionym: Nebela bursella Vejdovsky, var. rotunda Penard 1890

Diagnosis: Shell rounded or almost rounded, with a short neck and aperture in broad view, compressed with small lateral pores in each side that are sometimes difficult to observe. Shell slightly yellow or brownish, composed mainly of ovoid or circular test plates but can also be composed of, or covered by a thick layer of organic cement, giving the impression of a homogeneous structure.

Dimensions: According to Penard (1890): Shell length 70-90 µm; width 60-85 µm. Kosakyan (2025): Length 74–94 µm; width 67–85 µm; aperture 24-26 µm.

Ecology: Peatland pine forests, in Sphagnum mosses.

Geographical distribution: Europe.
