
Sphenoderia lenta var. longicollis Schönborn, 1966 *)
Diagnosis: Shell oval without neck, round in cross section. The scale-free neck is sharply separated from the shell fundus. In front view the neck widens downwards, in side view it is wedge-shaped. The scales of the fundus part are large, oval and overlap each other. Transverse row: 3-4 scales, longitudinal row: 4 scales. Shell hyaline, pseudostome slit-shaped.
Dimensions: Length 60.0-61.2 µm; width 50.2-50.8 µm; Length of neck 15.3-15.8 µm (n=3).
Ecology: Sediment. North Sweden.
Remarks: *) Sphenoderia lenta var. longicollis Schönborn, 1966 was introduced as a variety after 1960 and is therefore considered an infrasubspecific name unavailable under the provisions of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (Art. 45.6)
