Sphenoderia labiata Thomas & Gauthier-Lièvre, 1959
Diagnosis: Shell hyaline, oval, compressed, pseudostome straight cut with very short neck which forms a straight lip around the slit shaped aperture; in lateral view very elongate oval with the pseudostome resembling a sharp beak; test composed of circular or oval siliceous scales, which overlap each other at the border; nucleus ovoid, granular; filopodia.
Dimensions: Length 40 – 55 µm, breadth 22 – 35 µm, thickness 18 µm; my measurements: length 40 µm, width 29 µm (n=2).
