Sphenoderia pseudominuta Chatelain, Meisterfeld, Roussel-Delif and Lara 2013

Diagnosis: Shell acrostome, colorless, rounded, with similar sized ovoid plates; collar scales well-visible under scanning electron microscopy and high power LM; nucleus vesicular.
Very similar to Sphenoderia minuta, except that the scales are slightly smaller and less elongated.

Dimensions: Shell length: mean 33.6 µm, width: mean 21.1 µm, length of the collar: mean 4.2 µm, width of the collar (inner): c. 10.1 µm, width of the collar (outer): 9.8 µm. Scale dimensions: 9.3 µm length and 6.2 µm width, as measured over 16 scales from 9 individuals.

Habitat: Sphagnum, Belgium.
