Diagnosis: Shell very small and above all characterized by a covering of scales. This covering is only to be seen by phase contrast and with oil immersion, in which way each scale assumes the appearance of a wheel with spokes and nave.

Dimensions: Length: 35-50 µm, breadth 25-30 µm, pseudostome 10-11 µm.

Habitat: Shallow water, 1949 (Van Oye). Iceland.
