Bacteria
This beautiful image was made by Wim van Egmond. It looks like the test of a fresh water foraminifer, an Limnogromia species, but in fact it’s a bunch of bacteria around a Spirogyra algae. The photomicrograph below shows some Allogromia specimens, all about 400 µm.
