Diagnosis: Shell ovoid, dark violet, laterally compressed, with an oval aperture and an internally thickened border.
Dimensions: 135–180 µm long; my measurements 156–181 µm.
Ecology: Sphagnum and peat bogs; forest soils. Rare.
Remarks: This species resembles Heleopera amethystea at first sight, but can be distinguished by its oval aperture, whereas H. amethystea has a slit‑like aperture.
