Diagnosis: Shell dorsally ovate, laterally slightly compressed, covered by a mixture of fine quartz particles; idiosomes almost invisible beneath the sand grains. Fundus covered with larger particles, while closer to the aperture the shell has a fairly smooth structure. Aperture round, bordered by small particles, with small lateral notches. Pseudopodia not observed.
Dimensions: According to Snegovaya & Tahirova (2018): shell length 50–53 µm; width 31–40 µm; aperture diameter 11.4–12.6 µm.
Ecology: Freshwater sediments.
Geographical distribution: Maralgol Lake, Goygol District, Azerbaijan.
