Difflugia ampullula  Playfair, 1917

Diagnosis: The shell is broadly ovate, with a hemispherical fundus and sides that gradually converge in almost straight lines towards the broadly truncate pseudostome, which is surrounded by a narrow, slightly everted collar. The fundus is sometimes capped with a small, pointed spine. The pseudostome is circular.

Dimensions: Playfair (1917): Shell length 72-89 µm; width 52-65 µm; pseudostome diameter 21-30 µm, collar 4-8 um high.

Habitat: Freshwater, Australia.
