Difflugia glans Penard, 1902
Diagnosis: Shell elongate ovoid, strongly resembling an acorn; fundus rounded and its sides slightly bulging and narrowing towards the round and small aperture. Pseudostome bordered by a row of rounded and shiny scales, which are not always visible. Nucleus spherical with round nucleoli.
Dimensions: Penard (1902): Shell length 66-77 µm. My measurements: Length 68-74 µm; width 38-42 µm.
Ecology: Freshwater. In sediment, Switzerland (Penard, 1902); Croatia (sediment in Jopićeva cave, collected by Najla Baković, 2023).
