Ellipsopyxis pauliani Bonnet, 1965

Diagnosis: Shell yellowish or light brown in color. In dorsal view regularly elliptical. In lateral view perpendicular to the major axis. The shell has a semi-elliptical appearance, and in lateral view parallel to the major axis, it appears 2/3 circular. Pseudostome elliptical, the major axis of which has a length between 1.2 and 2.0 times that of the minor axis. Slightly thickened ridge; negligible invagination. Chitinoid shell wall embedded with fine punctiform elements on the ventral surface, and some reworked quartz fragments on the dorsal and lateral surfaces.

Dimensions: Length 64-70 µm, width 40-49 µm, thickness 40-45 µm, pseudostome 16.0-17.5 x 8.5-13.0 µm.

Ecology: Soils of various types but generally rich in organic matter, Central Africa.
