Diplochlamys gruberi  Penard, 1909

Diagnosis: Shell cup- shaped, often resembling a thimble. Shell bi-layered; inner hyaline sac invisible, outer layer consists of a thick compact layer of brownish debris. Endoplasm granular, one vesicular nucleus, 13 µm.

Dimensions: According to Penard (1909): Length usually 65 µm. My measurements: Length 87—95 µm; width 76—91 µm; nucleus 13 µm (n=3).

Ecology: Herbivorous. Found in dry mosses, on rocks and trees. So far known from France and Switzerland.
