Arcella apicata   Schaudinn, 1898
Syn.: A. amphora Van Oye, 1926

Diagnosis: Shell ovoid terminating in a point and resembling a Greek amphora. 1—14 ovular nuclei.

Dimensions: Accoding to Schaudinn (1898): Shell diameter 52—76 µm; height 100—130 µm; pseudostome 20—30 µm. Van Oye (1926): Diam. 160 µm; height 200 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater.

Geographical distribution: East-Africa (Schaudinn, 1898), Congo (Van Oye, 1926)
