Cryptodifflugia bassini  Bobrov, 2001

Diagnosis: Shell small, axially symmetrical, circular in transverse section, flattened in longitudinal section, and widely elliptical. Aperture central, circular, and wide; apertural edge even, smooth, with a faint thickening. Shell chitinous, yellowish‑brown. Shell surface smooth, without foreign inclusions. Diameter/height ratio 1.88.

Dimensions: Shell diameter 15–23 μm; shell height 8–12 μm; aperture diameter 7–13 μm.

Ecology: Upper layer (0–5 cm) of Sphagnum quagmires; wet Sphagnum mosses.

Distribution: Russia; Japan.
